Meet Heaven Jose - 1 of 7 Athletes Participating at the ISF High School Games In Morocco

Seven AAU Karate athletes were chosen to represent the United States on behalf of the AAU at the ISF High School Games in Morocco. In this article, meet Heaven Jose from MidWest Karate-Do in Illinois.

Heaven Jose, 17 is one of seven athletes representing the United States at the ISF High School Games in Morocco this weekend.

A little about Heaven:
~Heaven is Junior at Bolingbrook High School in Illinois. She participates in numerous academic clubs. Heaven is currently the Treasurer for her High School’s Student’s Ambassador Organization. She also is in Student Council and National Honor’s Society.

~Currently, Heaven loves to work with children and is an Assistant Karate Instructor at MidWest Karate-Do Association, a TKO and AAU affiliated dojo. She also participates in an accelerated dual credit college program where she has high hopes and inspiration to become a Pediatric Nurse one day.

~Heaven is an excellent writer. At 13 years old, she participated in an Illinois State Essay Scholarship contest. She was one of the few to be selected to win a $10,000 college scholarship in her class.

~In 2014, Heaven participated in the Ozawa Cup in Las Vegas, NV and was a Silver medalist in both Kata and Kumite.

~In 2015, Heaven was on the AAU/USA team to travel to Hawaii to compete in the All-Hawaii International Karate Championships. She won the Gold medal in Kumite.

~In 2017, Heaven competed in the AAU National Karate Championships in Raleigh, NC and won the Gold medal in Kumite.
