Dear AAU Karate Club,

On behalf of the AAU National Karate Committee I would like to take this opportunity to wish you a healthy and prosperous New Year!

We also would like to thank each and every club.  As a National Committee, we recognize that our success is a direct result of all our members’ combined efforts and continual support.

As we embark on this new decade, the AAU Karate Program will be introducing a number of new initiatives. These new initiatives will be phased-in and implemented throughout the year.  The first of these initiatives is the AAU Karate "Club Program."

In the past, to encourage our club members to increase their participation at our National Championships, the National Karate Committee instituted the top twenty club program. This was a very successful program that provided recognition and awarded clubs that brought the most athletes to our National Championships.

However, we have decided to expand and restructure this program to award ALL clubs that participate in our nationals and no longer limit it to our top three clubs.
Commencing in 2020, each club will receive an award of ten dollars ($10) for every athlete that participates in the AAU National Championships from the same club.  The award will be given in the club name or to the registered club representative.

The National Committee will only award participating clubs if and only if the proper procedures and criteria are followed. To qualify, club members must meet the following eligibility requirements and procedures below:
  1. Club members and their athletes must be current AAU Members in good standing during the competition year of the National Championship.
  2. Club members MUST use the official consolidated club roster form when registering for the National Championships. Individual registrations will NOT be used to calculate the award.
  3. Club members must register in accordance with the designated registration TIMELINE window. Remittance must be included with registration.
  4. Late and onsite submissions will NOT be considered in the calculation of this incentive.
  5. Additions to the roster after initial submission will NOT be used in the calculation of the award.
As we have done in previous years, each of the top twenty elite clubs shall be recognized and receive the prestigious banner designating them as the leaders in our program during our opening ceremonies.

We welcome you and look forward to a very busy and exciting 2020 Competition Year!
Sincerely,

J. B. Mirza, AAU Karate National Chair
